Risaku Suzuki’s “Water Mirror” is published in association with the fourth Daikanyama Photo Fair. In addition to the photographs of Kumano that can be thought of as the artist’s life work, it contains works from his Mont Sainte Victoire, Atelier of Cézanne, Sakura, and Yuki (White) series, and also new works from his Water Mirror series that takes water surfaces as its topic. Presenting a total of 46 photographs, this book is a condensation of the attraction of Suzuki’s work that results from his profound examination of photography as media, and his continued questioning of what seeing actually entails. It invites readers on a voyage of perception unlike anything they have seen before. Finally, the book includes an afterword by art critic Yuri Mitsuda in both Japanese and English.
