金子隆一（写真史家、写真集コレクター）

1948年東京都生まれ。72年立正大学文学部地理学科卒業。60年代末から写真集に興味を持ち、70年代に入り写真集を買うことを自分のミッションとして位置づけ、それによって「写真」を撮ることではなく「写真」に関わる方法を模索する。80年代から写真関係資料のコレクションをベースに、写真史研究を本格的に始める。共編著に『日本写真史の至宝』（国書刊行会、2005年～2007年）、共著に『日本写真集史1956～1986』（赤々舎、2009年）他多数。元東京都写真美術館学芸員。現在、武蔵野美術大学非常勤講師を務める。

The exhibition is a new attempt to comprehensively introduce the history of Japanese photobooks and the unique changes it has experienced since the war through keywords such as media, design, printing techniques, and publishers. Inviting Ryuichi Kaneko as a guest curator and including works from his collection, the exhibition serves to introduce the appeal of Japanese photobooks from a diverse and multilateral approach.

Ryuichi Kaneko (Historian, Photobook Collector)

Ryuichi Kaneko (b.1948, Tokyo) completed his BA in Geography at Rissho University. He became interested in photobooks in 1960’s and positioned collection of photobooks as his own mission in 1970’s. He sought the way to make a connection with “Photography” through collection of photobooks rather than photographing. In 1980’s he began research on history of photography in earnest based on the relevant photography material. He has authored and contributed to numerous publications including Masterpieces of Japanese Photography (Kokusho Kankokai, 2005-2007), Japanese Photobooks of the 1960s and `70s (Akaaka Art Publishing, 2009). He used to be a curator at Tokyo Photographic Museum ,and is currently a lecturer at Musashino Art University.
