Each Modernは、aura gallery taipei（2014 – 2017年）を前身として、様々なアーティストによる活動の特有性に光を当て、地域を横断しうる独創的な美術形態と対話に専心してきた。台湾の美術業界において極めて重要な役割を担う同ギャラリーでは、中国、台湾の若手から中堅、新進気鋭の作家に加え、国際的に活躍する写真界の巨匠による作品を紹介している。2018年３月、オーナーである黄亜紀は、国境や文化を超えた先駆的プログラムを展開するため、Each Modernの名で、台北中心部にギャラリーを移転した。

学術的、審美的な評価を受け、リー・ユワンチア、中平卓馬、鄧南光などの亡きアーティストから、Wu Meichi、Xu Jiongなどの若き作家、アジアを代表する作家ととも密接に仕事をしてきた。

2018年の秋より、リー・ユワンチアと日本の前衛的なアーティスト、台湾の若手アーティストを同時に紹介し、世代や地域制を超えた対話の機会を作ろうとしている。2017年には、2015年の死後初となる中平卓馬のギャラリーでの個展を開催し、ヒューストン美術館や森美術館などでも展示された作品群を紹介した。その後、”TAIWAN-Vintage Photos and Photobooks”では、100タイトルにおよぶ1917年以降の雑誌や写真集、1936年以降の台湾の歴史を記録した傑作写真集15タイトルを紹介する。2016年には阮義忠と須田一政による1980年代の並外れた作品群の紹介と並行し、台湾と日本で撮られた彼らのモノクロとチバクロームの作品を展示しました。2017年には台湾のギャラリーとして初めてAIPAD The Photography Showに参加するなど、その動向は台湾のあらゆるメディアから注目を集めている。

Each Modern, formerly aura gallery taipei (2014-2017), commits to inventive art forms and dialogues across regions by bringing to light the uniqueness of each artist’s practice. A pivotal player in Taiwan’s art arena, the gallery focuses on avent-garde, mid-career and emerging contemporary artists from China and Taiwan as well as international photography masters.
In March 2018, owner Huang Yaji relocated the gallery to central Taipei, where she spearheads best programs transcending borders and cultures under its present name.
Known for robust academic and aesthetic merits, Each Modern works closely with Li Yuan-Chia Foundation, Estate of Teng NanKuang, Takuma Nakahira and other Asian masters. On the experimental front, Each Modern actively discovers emerging artists from Taipei, Beijing, Tokyo and New York.
In 2017, the gallery organized Nakanira’s first gallery exhibition since his passing away (2015), staging works exhibited in The Museum of Fine Arts, Houston, and Mori Museum, Tokyo. Later, “TAIWAN—Vintage Photos and Photobooks” showed 100 copies of photo magazines and photobooks from 1917 and 15 vintage masterpieces documenting Taiwanese history from 1936. In 2016, it showed extraordinary works by Juan I-Jong and Issei Suda from the 1980s, juxtaposing their monochrome and cibachrome photographs taken in Japan and Taiwan, respectively. It was the first Taiwanese gallery to participate in The Photography Show presented by AIPAD (2017). Thus far it has garnered substantial media coverage in Taiwan with every stride it makes.
